Children and Language Acquisition
Children are expanding their vocabulary daily. They are especially capable of picking up and retaining new sounds. A childs' brain is still in the initial phase of forming its learning patterns, rendering it more flexible. They pick up sounds, words and utterances they hear around them in an organic way: through play and exploration. They learn one word at a time; by the time a child is 4 years old she knows roughly 2,000 words. Learning a language for a child, therefore, is a very natural process. Why not take advantage of this unique time to add another language to their repetoire? Teach your child about living in a global community while giving them the gift of a foreign language. No previous knowledge of Italian necessary! Children learn through doing. You'll be amazed at how quickly your little will learn.
