Children and Language Acquisition

Children are expanding their vocabulary daily. They are especially capable of picking up and retaining new sounds. A childs' brain is still in the initial phase of forming its learning patterns, rendering it more flexibleThey pick up sounds, words and utterances they hear around them in an organic way: through play and exploration.  They learn one word at a time; by the time a child is 4 years old she knows roughly 2,000 words. Learning a language for a child, therefore, is a very natural process. Why not take advantage of this unique time to add another language to their repetoire? Teach your child about living in a global community while giving them the gift of a foreign language. No previous knowledge of Italian necessary! Children learn through doing. You'll be amazed at how quickly your little will learn.
