We've been studying textures and sensations at La Piccola Scuola di Seattle. The children have been investigating their world through a series of activities & experiments in Italian. We've learned the Italian words for each of our body parts, verbs we can do and the accompanying sensations of each verb.
In the picture below, the children are manipulating the all natural playdough they made themselves!
We expressed, in Italian, how it made us feel to make our own playdough, to help out in the kitchen and of course how much we love the texture!
Children adore being active in the kitchen. They feel a source of pride in helping the adults around them. Try inviting your child to help you in some simple cooking activities or science experiments. You can go over the ingredients in Italian, and provide the Italian words for each verb as they help mix, pour, clean, etc. Enjoy!
