Learning a foreign language strengthens grasp of first language

If you were concerned that learning Italian might interfere with your child's grasp of the English language fear not. According to Kidsource, children who have had exposure to a foreign language, like Italian, statistically score higher on the verbal part of exams such as the SATs. Learning another language not only opens up a new world, but it increases your child's capacity for understanding her first language.
